CONSTRUCTION NOTICE: Chatfield Basin Water Reclamation Facility (CBWRF) Construction 

Dominion Water & Sanitation Distict (DWSD) has begun construction activities at the future Chatfield Basin Water Reclamation Facility (CBWRF) site.  These activities will take place over the next two years. 

Projected Timeline:

COMPLETED

  • Demolition of the main structure
  • Delivery and setup of construction trailer

NOVEMBER 2026-APRIL 2027

  • Earthworks activities
  • Concrete work
  • Concrete trucks several days per week

MAY - DECEMBER 2027

  • Erect steel building
  • Install mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Delivery of large equipment

JANUARY - OCTOBER 2028

  • Testing, startup, and commissioning of the facility

Chatfield Basin Water Reclamation Facility Groundbreaking - Aug 28, 2025

The Chatfield Basin Water Reclamation Facility is now under construction in Douglas County and will provide much-needed long-term solutions to water quality and infrastructure concerns in northwest Douglas County, while stimulating economic growth along the U.S. 85 corridor. 

Dominion Water & Sanitation District purchased the Roxborough Wastewater Treatment Facility in 2007, along with the discharge permit and associated easements. In 2024 Dominion selected Stantec to design and execute the plant refurbishment. Dominion is currently working with state and local agencies on permits and design approvals, and will continue to work with all permitting agencies and neighbors to build and environmentally sensitive and sustainable system.
